Our Pyrenees Yoga Hike Restore Retreat is set high in the beautiful Atlantique Pyrenees of South West of France. If you love yoga, hiking, stunning mountain scenery and sharing an adventure together, then this retreat is for you.

We stay 6 nights in a picturesque family hotel in a small village high in the Pyrenees mountains. Each day begins with inspirational morning Radiance Yoga followed by a hearty mountain breakfast before we strap on our hiking shoes and head out for our days hiking adventure on foot. We will stop along the way to enjoy a picnic lunch and rest in the beautiful land. In the afternoons we return to our hotel for a shower and rest before our deeply relaxing restoration yoga class followed by a shared evening meal at our hotel’s mountain bar.

A guide to our days on retreat

7 am: morning Radiance Yoga
9 am: hearty mountain breakfast
10 am: depart for our days hike or rest & explore the local area
12.30: enjoy a picnic lunch along our hike
3-4 pm: return to our hotel for a shower and a rest
5.30 pm: afternoon restoration yoga
7 pm: nutritious dinner

Yoga is taught by Jessie Chapman whose inspirational Yoga classes are designed for all levels from the complete beginner to the more experienced practitioner. About the hikes

It’s about the journey, not the destination‘. Jessie has been leading retreats in this region for the past 10 years. When walking we are not hurrying; rather we are taking in the sights and sounds and stopping to rest, connect and absorb. Each day we will enjoy some silent walking on our trails to quieten the mind and connect with our surrounds and ourselves. For a few of the longer days hikes we will be with our experienced local hiking guide. The hiking days include some up and down hill, some small trails on forest paths, some higher mountain walks and some flatter walks. People in good health and of all ages have managed the hikes well. Walking poles are recommended for people with knee issues or just to give extra support.

Getting to the Retreat

Our scheduled pick-up and meeting place on the first day is at Pau Train Station. Pau is the gateway to the Pyrenees of South West France and is located 1.5 hours inland from Biarritz and 2 hours from Bordeaux. Most guests will opt to stay in Pau the night before at a hotel or AirBNB. More information about how best to get to Pau is emailed to you upon registering or you can email us for more information. We can also assist you with flight bookings.

Arrival and Departure

Arrival Day: Our group meeting place on the first day is at 8.30 am at the Pau Railway Station. From Pau we will travel together to our first hiking destination and make our way to our retreat via a half days hiking adventure. Once we arrive into our village we will have time to settle into our rooms, rest, shower and relax before our first yoga class and group welcome followed by our evening meal together.

Departure Day: On the last morning of the retreat yoga will finish at 8.30 am followed by breakfast before we pack up our bags and head out on foot for our final hike back to the station and back to Pau. Our bags are transported for us back to the train station on the first and last day of the retreat so we do not carry our bags or suitcases on these ‘getting there on foot’ hikes.
