Byron Bay Yoga Retreat Accommodation & Location
We stay at Sangsurya Retreat, located 3 km from the heart of Byron Bay. The retreat offers an ocean-view ozone swimming pool, a spacious wooden-floor yoga hall, lush tropical gardens, and tastefully furnished, Asian-inspired rooms and cabins, each equipped with air conditioning, fans, and ensuite bathrooms. Each room at the retreat is unique. The Private Single and Couple rooms feature queen or king beds, the smaller Cozy Single rooms are fitted with single beds and the Twin Share Rooms and Triple Share Apartment offer a mix of bed sizes. This environmentally friendly, 10-acre retreat is a peaceful sanctuary, surrounded by abundant birdlife, fresh sea air, and stunning views, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the natural sights and sounds of the area with the beach and tea tree lake within walking distance.

Our wellness retreats in Byron Bay are designed for everyone — whether you’re new to yoga or have an established, dedicated practice. With Jessie’s years of teaching experience along with the Radiance facilitators, each participant is individually supported and encouraged, with practices adapted to meet your energy levels, physical condition, and personal needs.
Morning yoga sessions begin with joint-loosening, full-body limbering, and gentle flowing sequences, before settling into longer-held postures that cultivate flexibility, strength, balance, correct alignment, and awareness. Afternoon restorative yoga classes are all about deep relaxation — slowing the systems of the body, calming the mind, overcoming fatigue and replenishing natural energy supplies. Restoration yoga naturally cultivates relaxed full breathing and inner stillness.
Throughout the retreat, Jessie and the Radiance team offer nourishing hands-on adjustments, personalised guidance, and a nurturing environment where you’ll feel completely cared for on your yoga journey. All yoga sessions weave in relaxed breathing, pranayama, and natural stillness practices. Guided Beach & Nature Walks
Byron Bay’s stunning coastal and subtropical rainforest trails are just a short walk from our retreat centre and each day, there’s the opportunity to join a guided walk to the nearby beach and tranquil tea tree lake. One retreat morning, we travel by mini bus to the start of the Cape Byron Lighthouse Walking Track to explore the scenic loop trail, often spotting dolphins along the way, with the option for an ocean dip. Our 6-night NYE Retreats also include an optional afternoon walk along the breathtaking Broken Head track, known for its picturesque beach coves. All of our retreat walks include periods of walking in silence, allowing you to fully absorb the beauty and sounds of all around. We also weave in gentle silent walking meditations at the retreat centre.
Organic Passion Meals
Our wellness retreat meals are lovingly prepared by the Organic Passion catering team using fresh, organic, plant-based ingredients. The menu is abundant, energising, and always a highlight of the retreat. Free from meat, dairy, wheat, cane sugar, processed and oily foods, the meals gently support cleansing and renewal, without leaving you hungry. Each morning after yoga, we enjoy a fresh juice and a vibrant buffet breakfast. Lunch is another generous buffet, and dinner is a nourishing soup to support restful sleep. Throughout the day, fruits, beverages, lemon, ginger, filtered water, apple cider vinegar and spirulina are available for extra nourishment and hydration. All meals are vegan and gluten-free, with special dietary needs catered for with advance notice. Guests can dine in the dining room, on the ocean-view deck, or in the quiet marquee for silent meals. Anthea, the creator of Organic Passion and author of two bestselling vegan cookbooks – available to purchase on retreat or in the Radiance online store – also hosts a cooking chat and demonstration during the retreat, sharing her love of organic food and answering questions.

Getting Here:
If you’re flying in, airport shuttle transfers are available from Ballina Byron Gateway Airport (25 minutes away) and Gold Coast (Coolangatta) International Airport (45 minutes away).
Once you’ve registered, we’ll send you detailed information on how to get here easily.
Arrival Day:
Guests are welcome to arrive from 9:00am onwards. A delicious welcome buffet lunch is available between 12:30pm and 3:30pm, and our first yoga class and group gathering begins at 5:00pm.
We understand that everyone arrives at different times depending on flights, so we encourage you to arrive as early as you can — to settle in, explore the retreat grounds, have a massage, enjoy a swim, or simply relax.
If you’re arriving later in the day, we’re happy to put aside lunch for you.
Departure Day:
On our final morning, yoga finishes around 9:00am, followed by a relaxed farewell breakfast.
Formal retreat check-out is by 12:00pm midday, however, if you have a later flight or pick-up, you’re welcome to leave your bags safely at the retreat and relax until 4:00pm.
Extra Night Accommodation:
If you’d like to ease into the retreat, extra night accommodation is available the night before we begin.
Arrival for extra nights is between 3:30pm and 6:30pm.

Not at all. Our Byron Bay yoga retreats are open to all levels—from complete beginners to experienced practitioners. Classes are taught with individual attention and care, so everyone can move at their own pace.
The retreat venue is located 3 km from Byron Bay town centre. The closest airports are Ballina Airport (25 minutes) and Gold Coast’s Coolangatta Airport (40 minutes). Full directions are provided upon registering with a list of bus companies to book your airport transfers direct to the retreat with.
We recommend bringing comfortable yoga wear and casual clothing for the retreat and walks along with comfortable walking shows, a pair of easy to slip on shoes for getting around the retreat, a swimsuit, sunscreen, and any personal items you may need. We provide yoga mats and props. There are laundry facilities at the retreat so you can travel light.
