Everyone is welcome and well cared for by Jessie and the Radiance facilitators. The New Zealand yoga retreat classes are designed for all, from the complete beginner to those with a regular practice, with lots of nourishing one-on-one yoga adjustments and instruction given by Jessie and the experienced Radiance team.

For our yoga retreats in New Zealand we stay in a mountain view lodge located 10 minutes’ drive outside Wanaka on New Zealand’s South Island. The lodge offers a range of accommodation options to choose from, expansive gardens, indoor and outdoor relaxation areas, laundry, wi-fi and all-day refreshments. During our wellness retreats in New Zealand an experienced Massage Therapist is available in-house offering deep tissue, remedial and relaxation massage.

Your New Zealand yoga retreat hosts are Jessie Chapman and the experienced Radiance facilitators. Jessie has been teaching yoga for 27 years and offering Radiance Yoga Wellness Retreats in Byron Bay, Asia, New Zealand and Europe for 22 years. Author of 4 Yoga Books (HarperCollins) including the bestseller Yoga Postures for your Body, Mind & Soul and creator of the Radiance Yoga DVD Series, Jessie loves sharing the transformational yoga practice and powerful retreat journeys; creating space for people to deepen in yoga and to be inspired in beautiful natural surrounds. During the retreat Jessie is joined by the experienced New Zealand yoga retreat facilitators offering an abundance of care and nourishment.

Yoga, Restoration & Stillness

Our wellness retreats in New Zealand are designed to rejuvenate your body and inspire your soul. The retreat days are based upon the foundation of morning, afternoon and yoga along with the daily guided hikes. 

Jessie’s morning Radiance yoga classes are an inspired blend of body loosening, relaxed full breathing and slow flow gentle yoga sequences to cultivate flexibility, strength, core stability and stillness. Classes incorporate variations of the yoga postures to develop one’s practice with awareness, correct alignment and to support different energy levels and physical conditions. Yoga props are often used and lots of one-on-one yoga adjustments are given by Jessie and the experienced Radiance facilitators. 

Jessie’s afternoon yoga classes explore restorative yoga postures to deeply rest the bodies systems, restore energy levels and help overcome exhaustion and fatigue. Jessie loves to share the powerful healing benefits of restoration yoga that cultivates relaxed full breathing, quietness of mind and a connection with all that is.

Other New Zealand yoga retreat classes and activities include our daily guided hikes, evening yoga nidra, sitting in stillness and some silent mindfulness walking and nature bathing.

Our Hiking Trails I New Zealand Yoga Retreats

The Wanaka area is full of stunning lakes, National Parks, mountains, rivers and glaciers. Our hiking days – or ‘tramping’ as they say in New Zealand – are about the journey, allowing time to soak in all the beautiful sights and sounds. The trails we take are well trodden and average approximately 7-15 km of varying elevation with some hikes offering options to take a flatter trail or to go higher. Enjoy all our hikes or rest as needed, read in the gardens, have a massage or explore Wanaka town. More yoga retreat New Zealand, hiking and ‘what to bring’ details are emailed upon registration.

Our Meals

Our New Zealand yoga retreat meals are lovingly prepared using fresh local ingredients and are all vegetarian, abundant and delicious. Breakfasts include a fresh morning juice and a delicious buffet selection. Lunches are prepared picnics to eat on our hike or at the lodge if resting. Dinners are delicious, abundant home-cooked meals. Our menu is all vegetarian and mostly gluten free with special dietary requests catered for. Water, teas, coffees and fresh fruits are available throughout the retreat.

Arrival & Departure I Wellness Retreats in New Zealand

Arrival Day: Our group pick up and meeting places are 2 pm in Queenstown Centre and 2.30 pm at Queenstown Airport. The drive from Queenstown to our retreat takes about 1.5 hours. Upon arrival there’s time to settle into your room, relax and enjoy refreshments before a gentle afternoon stroll followed by our first relaxation yoga class and then dinner. Afterwards there is a Yoga Nidra, guided relaxation before bed.

Departure Day: On the last day of the retreat yoga is a shorter class followed by breakfast and then the retreat comes to an end. We depart the lodge at 9 am for our group transfer to Queenstown Airport and Queenstown town centre. If you have a later flight that day, there are lockers at the airport to store luggage. You can then explore Queenstown before returning to the airport via the airport shuttle or taxi.

Many airlines fly into Queenstown International Airport. If requiring accommodation before or after our retreat we suggest staying in Queenstown where there’s an abundance of options. Full wellness retreat in NZ details are emailed upon registration or Contact Us with any questions.
